1965 ALF 900 Series Aero Chief 90 Quint from Suffern, NY

The second Aero Chief quint went to Suffern, NY. If you compare this rig to the first quint, you will notice that this one has a lower profile. The cab roof is notched out so the boom can be carried lower. This option allowed the truck to fit into older stations with short doors.

1965 ALF 900 Series Aero Chief 80 Quint from Gary, IN

This Aero Chief 80 quint has been around. It was delivered to South Holland, IL, then sold to Lake of the Four Seasons, IN, then again to Gary, IN. The upper cab was painted blue after Gary purchased it. The day I shot this photo, it was the only aerial in service in Gary, the newer ones being in the shop for repairs, and it's turntable would not rotate!

1965 Ford C/ALF Aero Chief 80 from Bangkok, Thailand

This is one of the few rigs that eluded me until recently. It was the second one to be built on a C-Series Ford chassis. (Better photo needed)

1966 ALF 900 Series Aero Chief 90 from Long Beach, NY

The Aero Chief 90 on a single axle chassis had an exceptionally long front overhang. With the bucket hanging out behind, I'm sure these rigs were a handful to drive in heavy traffic!

This shot shows the typical ground ladder arrangement used on the left side of most Aero Chiefs. They were carried on beam on the opposite side.

1966 ALF 900 Series Aero Chief 80 from Catawissa, PA

Delivered in red paint, this tandem axle Aero Chief 80 served Pennsauken, NJ before being sold to Catawissa, PA. Catawissa repainted the rig in "Catawissa Cream" with dark green trim. Once retired, it was sold to a collector who shipped it to it's new home in England.

After serving Niagara Falls, NY for many years, this one was sold to a local heavy equipment rental company. It was cut up for scrap in 1993.

1966 ALF 900 Series Aero Chief 80 Quint from Parkesburg, PA

The yellow boom makes this Aero Chief 80 stand out from the crowd. Delivered new to Easton, PA, it was later sold to Parkesburg, PA. It was eventually cut up for scrap in the late 1990's.

Although it may not appear to, this Aero Chief 90 does fit into the bay behind it. This one served Milnont, PA for well over thirty years.

1966 ALF 900 Series Aero Chief 80 Quint from Bountiful City, UT

After many years with the Fire Department in Bounitful City, UT, this 80' quint was sold to Mesquite, NV and painted white. In 2001, it was sold to Tusayan, AZ. It is currently painted yellow with a white roof without sides, similar to the Tucson rigs.

1966 ALF 900 Series Aero Chief 80 Quint from Camden, ME

Originally delivered to East Aurora, NY, this Aero Chief 80 quint protected the home of Fisher-Price Toys for many years. It was also used in ALF advertising in the late 1960's. It was later sold to Camden, ME where it served until the mid-1990's. It was recently advertised on Ebay with the boom removed and rear body cut off.

This Aero Chief has served South Hackensack for over thirty years. This is a high profile model, the boom is completely above the cab roof.

Originally delivered as a quint, this Aero Chief had it's pump and tank removed. A large equipment compartment replaced the pump.

Like Syracuse, Jersey City had difficulties with their Aero Chief 90. It tipped over on two different occasions prior to being scrapped. The cab roof was fabricated by the department shops.
