The proud crew of Tacoma Truck 3 poses with their Aero Chief. The boom was later replaced with an ALF 100' rearmount ladder and the apparatus was placed in the reserve fleet for several years. It was eventually disposed of. (Better photo needed)

1970 ALF 900 Series Aero Chief 80 from Tacoma, WA

The twin to Tacoma's Truck 3 was Truck 4. They were not identical twins as the upper right rear compartments were different. Due to many railroad crossings in T-4's area, the boom developed cracks early on and it was removed. The rig operated for a while as a city service truck before it was scrapped.

1971 ALF 1000 Series Aero Chief 90 from Bradenton, FL

From this point on, most Aero Chief's would be built on the 1000 Series chassis which can be identified by the bright metal trim panel on the lower cab face. This shot shows the outriggers in the down position. Bradenton disposed of their Aero Chief in 2000. It was sold at auction and was last seen owned by a painting contractor in Largo, FL. The ladder racks and water piping had been removed.
